Hogwarts Battle gets a whole new expansion and premium sleeves to enhance the challenge and the look

March 23, 2020 - 11:12pm

Fans of Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle, the excellent cooperative deck-building game from USAopoly (now known as The Op), will have a lot of reasons to return to the adventure this year with the addition of a new expansion and custom-printed card sleeves. The Charms and Potions Expansion first and foremost adds the option to bring a fifth player to the table and Ginny Weasley to the list of playable characters. However, as the name suggests, there's also charms and potions available to add many new twists and challenges in addition to a host of new allies and enemies, such as Pansy Parkinson and Marcus Flint. If all that wasn't reason enough to rejoin the battle against He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, there are premium card sleeves, two sets of which will cover the base game and both expansions with the Hogwarts seal to really dial-up the experience a notch.

"Continue to rally against Villains and enhance your abilities with this new expansion, which features the addition of a fifth player game board and new playable character, Ginny Weasley™ [...] Enhance your experience with Charm abilities to aid you as you battle new Villains and Encounter even more challenges. [...] With four new packs of content, our Heroes will have to work together to defeat He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!"

After nearly 4 years since it was published, Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle still proves to do it's namesake justice. There have been many Harry Potter themed board games since, but it's hard to beat how attractive, evocative, and immersive Hogwarts Battle is in comparison. So it's no surprise that after this time it's gotten a second expansion with even more content built to bring you back in and enjoy it all over again. Ginny is a wonderful addition, as are the wealth of new surprises in store, and those sleeves look so good that I'd be tempted to throw them on cards from other games too! Be sure to check out The Op's website for further information and release date for both this expansion and the accesories to follow.
