Help complete Mozart's unfinished Requiem in Lacrimosa from Devir
Devir Games is diving into classical music for their upcoming release, Lacrimosa. The game is about the Lacrimosa movement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Opus Requiem, which was left unfinished upon his death. Lacrimosa is Latin for weeping or tearful. It is a name that derives from Our Lady of Sorrows, a title given to The Virgin Mary, and is part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Roman Catholic Requiem Masses. One to four players take on the role of sponsors of the famous composer. You will compete on two timelines, the past and present. In the present, players will commission funding for the missing pieces of the Requiem. In the past, you will develop your contributions to Mozart's life, in the hopes of being prominently featured in his widow's memoir.
In the game, players will take actions by playing cards from their hand. Cards can be played as actions or to generate resources. Players will improve their pool of cards as the game progresses. By optimising your resources and finances, you can support the best story of your relationship with Mozart and complete his final masterpiece.
Lacrimosa is designed by Gerard Ascensi and Ferran Renalias, who previously co-designed On the Origin of Species, a hand management and tile placement game about Charles Darwin's journey through the Galapagos Islands. Lacrimosa, which has a stunning box cover, features art by Jared Blando and Enrique Corominas. Devir anticipates a retail release in Q4 2022.
