Frank West, designer of The Isle of Cats, elected as new GAMA board president
GAMA, The Game Manufacturer’s Association, is the non-profit trade organization representing the hobby games industry. Members are made up from seven different categories including: publishers, creators, wholesalers, retailers, production, media & events, and communicating members. The governing board is made up from 2 representatives from each of the above groups except the communicating member group which is strictly for receiving newsletters and emails from GAMA.
For the past several years, GAMA has been no stranger to controversy, and has been severely impacted both financially and procedurally by COVID. On July 19th 2022, Kylie Prymus resigned from the position of president stating the demands on his time were too much for him to continue in the role. Vice-President Grace Collins became interim president until the elections could be held. On August 18th, GAMA held an election to fill in the role permanently and the newly elected President is Frank West, designer of City of Kings and The Isle of Cats. Frank has stated "This is a position that I am honoured to hold and in the months to come I will do everything I can to move GAMA forwards. There is so much to do and I cannot wait to get started."
