Flat River Group acquires Greater Than Games

Board game publisher Greater Than Games has been acquired by e-commerce accelerator Flat River Group. Greater Than Games has produced Spirit Island, Sentinels of the Multiverse, and many other board games. The business model for Flat River Group is to buys\ inventory, warehouses it, sells it to major e-commerce retailers, and fulfills distribution center orders. Previously Greater Than Games has been one of their vendors. Now the board game publisher will operate under the same corporate umbrella. The growth of Greater Than Games over the last decade has seen them merge with Dice Hate Me Games in 2015 and acquire publishing rights to Cheapass Games in 2019. Flat River Group made a similar acquisition in 2019 when they purchased Impressions Game Distribution Services. This agreement continues what is becoming a trend of integrating board game publishing companies with distribution companies.
