Exploding Kittens is Expanding
Tabletop game creator Exploding Kittens has announced that it has made its first acquisition, Happy Salmon, which was originally published by North Star Games. Happy Salmon is designed by Quentin Weir and Ken Gruhl, who is now serving as Senior Game Designer at Exploding Kittens. Happy Salmon is going to get the Exploding Kittens treatment and will be re-released in its new incarnation in November 2021.
Originally the brainchild of creators Elan Lee and Matthew Inman, Exploding Kittens has since become a haven for game designers with a roster of designers now numbering in the teens. The team at Exploding Kittens “aims to cultivate new talent, source new games, and create new household favorites.” After initially seeking to raise $10K through Kickstarter, the Exploding Kittens campaign raised almost $9 million in 30 days from 200,000+ backers. To date, Exploding Kittens is the #1 most-backed project in Kickstarter history and has sold over 15 million games.
