“The ancient city of Merv. A gateway between the East and the West. A hub of scholarship and trade. The greatest city in the world.”

Osprey Games has just announced Merv: The Heart of the Silk Road, a new euro game from designer Fabio Lopiano (Calimala, Ragusa), featuring spectacular art from master Ian O'Toole. The City of Merv is the center of the ancient trading world, sitting securely on the great Silk Road. In Merv, players run a tense economic empire, trading for gold and power. Strategic donations to the grand mosque, and careful court intrigue can funnel much of Merv’s flow of wealth into your own pocket. However, the Mongol Hordes are an ever-present threat, so players need to divert some their own resources to building up the city walls, or else they may fall to ruins with the city.

Merv: The Heart of the Silk Road plays in 90 minutes, comes with 25 tiles, 48 cards, and hundred of wooden pieces and tokens.  The game is expected to come to retail stores in October 2020.
