'Curious Cargo' inbound from Capstone Games

June 16, 2020 - 4:09pm

Capstone Games has announced Curious Cargo, a two-player tile laying game designed by Ryan Courtney with illustrations by Kwanchai Moryia and graphic design by Brigette Indelicato. The game is planned for a retail release happening in October 2020.

Curious Cargo builds on the puzzling tile-laying aspects of Ryan Courtney's Pipeline while combining it with pick-up-and-deliver mechanics. In Curious Cargo players go head-to-head against each other by building up the infrastructure of their facilities, calling in trucks at the right moment, all while perfectly timing the shipping and receiving of cargo to score the most points. Players connect an interweaving network of lines to their shipping and receiving spaces and ship  custom-shaped cargo tokens to their opponent to interfere with their logistics plans!

Curious Cargo comes with two play-modes, Day and Night. Day Mode is recommended for the initial couple of games and uses 2-color Conveyor tiles. For the Night Mode, the purple crystalline material is introduced for an an advanced experience by using all 3 colors on the Conveyor tiles. The game also comes with 6 unique player boards for each player and has an expected game length of 30 to 60 minutes.

Curious Cargo is currently available for pre-order, which will be fulfilled in September 2020, just prior to the October 2020 retail release.  An implementation on Tabletop Simulator is also coming soon.  More information can be found here.
