Critical Role gets munchkinized

December 1, 2020 - 1:59pm

Critical Role, the fantastic live Dungeons &Dragons podcast/video stream, is getting its own version of Munchkin. Munchkin: Critical Role slaps a new coat of paint on the venerable take that game where players try to reach level 10 by fighting monsters and looting helpful items. Munchkin games tend to thrive based on the humor of the cards. The Mighty Nein campaign of Critical Role provides a deep pool of interesting characters and items to pull from. The 172 card set features character art by Elena Muñoz and art by Tyler Hostettler.

Three to six players will each take on the role of one of the main characters from the Mighty Nein campaign and receive a double-sided character card with special abilities. Players will encounter enemies and gain items from the show. For more details about Critical Role, check out their site.

Munchkin: Critical Role is published by The Op, and scheduled to release in Feburary 2021.
