Collect pearls from 12 Rivers from Romain Caterdjian
Designer Romain Caterdjian and publisher BGNations have announced 12 Rivers, a game about collecting riches, as they flow from the gods down the life giving rivers. Players take on the role of one of 4 competing tribes, sending warriors up the mountain to camp by the river. Warriors can collect more valuable bounties if they move toward the origin of the river, but more camp tools have to be paid as well. After five rounds, the bounties to the villagers will be scored for players based on the rarity.
Caterdjian is known for making games with interesting physical components, such as 2021’s Dive with its stack of see-through water cards. In 12 Rivers, the tilted board is made of a series of branching channels. 5 types of pearls run downward from the top, taking the various branches. Players place warrior tiles into slots, blocking portions of the rivers, trapping the components.
12 Rivers is scheduled to release at Essen Spiel in October.
