CMoN releases more info on Stranger Things Upside Down

December 15, 2022 - 11:35pm

Cool Mini or Not announced the upcoming Stranger Things title Upside Down from designer Rob Daviau back in July. CMoN recently released a live video with more information on this upcoming co-operative title. Upside Down is for 1-4 players, who take control of 2-4 of the main characters within the world of Stranger Things. Characters have their own player boards that denote starting locations, abilities, and a fear track. Eleven will always accompany the group, as they work to relive the events of seasons one and two of the Netflix megahit. In fact, there are two games within the box, each with their own winning conditions, and each having its own board.

The board contains locations within both the real world and the Upside Down. Each turn, players move to different locations, which offer a choice of actions, pending monsters present. Many times players will want to do a skill check in a location, and to do so they play cards, adding up their values, then compare to the value of face down encounter chips in the space - Higher cards wins the check, but if the chips are higher, the excess goes to your fear track. Like any true co-op, player turns are of course followed by card draws and chips from the bad guys.

Stranger Things: Upside Down is coming straight to retail in 2023. For more details, check out the All About Stranger Things video on YouTube from CMoN.
