Charms and Potions and Ginny! Oh My!

USAOpoly [aka The OP] has released a new expansion for its popular deck-building game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle.  This is the second expansion to the game following the Monster Book of Monsters expansion released in 2017.  The game now plays 2-5 players, ages 11+, with a play time of 1-2 hours.

The latest expansion, Charms and Potions, adds the capability of having a fifth player in the game.  It also introduces a new playable character, Ginny Weasley.  The cooperative nature of the game remains and there are new villains introduced for Harry and the other characters to fight.  The expansion also uses the encounter card mechanic introduced in the first expansion, although you do not need to have played the first expansion to play this one.

The new mechanics introduced in the expansion are, as the new implies, charms and potions.  At the beginning of the game, each player will choose a charm for his or her character.  These charms get stronger as the characters lose health.  Later on in the campaign, potions that the players can brew are introduced.  For an overview of the new expansion’s mechanics, be sure to check out the preview video done by the Dice Tower’s own Mark Streed here.
