Capstone Games invites you to tour America by train

January 3, 2020 - 8:46pm

Last year Capstone Games released Irish Gauge, which was designated as the first game in an Iron Rail series.  For 2020 Capstone has announced the second game in the series, Ride the Rails.

Ride the Rails is set in the USA and features artwork from Ian O'Toole.  It appears that one of the main differences with Ride the Rails compared to Irish Gauge is that shares of stock are not auctioned, but rather, shares are represented by the trains players have corresponding to a specific company.  Each round a new rail company is available which has special placement rules.  Payouts are based on transporting passengers to a city.

Additionally, Capstone Games announced that a double-sided map expansion featuring France and Germany will be available for Ride the Rails.

Ride the Rails is for 3 to 5 players with a game time of about an hour.  It is planned to be released in July.
