Blood Bowl returns to the dungeon
Games Workshop has announced a new edition of Dungeon Bowl, a spin-off game of Blood Bowl. Blood Bowl is a two-player miniatures game where players battle in a warped version of American football. Each team is a faction from the Warhammer universe and the mayhem is amped up for maximum carnage. Dungeon Bowl was initially released in 1989 as Elves, Dwarves, and Dungeonbowl. It takes Blood Bowl as a fantasy sports game and adds elements of a dungeon crawl. The goal of the game is simple: find the ball, which is hidden in one of the dungeon's multiple treasure chests, and get it to your base. The complication is the expansive dungeon is full of twisting corridors, traps, portals, and possibly a dragon.
One hallmark of Blood Bowl is the variability in teams. Each team is comprised of a faction from the Warhammer universe. Dungeon Bowl puts a twist on this variability, as each team represents one of the eight Colleges of Magic, with team members coming from multiple different factions. Dungeon Bowl's new edition will have dungeon tiles, 3D treasure chests and portals, and all the miniatures you need to jump into a game.
Games Workshop has not yet announced a release date.
