Become a zillionaire on Mars

May 30, 2022 - 2:52pm

Zillionaires on Mars is a re-release of the original The Game of 49 (released in 2014) designed by Matt Corsey, this time published by Big Potato. Players participate in brinkmanship bidding and chip placement to win this 4-in-a-row auction game. The game supports 2-5 players, aged 10+, and plays in roughly 45 minutes.

Each player starts with 49 zillion Dollars then bid to buy spaces on the 49-square (7-by-7 grid) game board. They randomly draw number cards which are auctioned one at a time. The highest bidder places the chip on the matching board space. There are also wild/payoff cards which give players a choice of where to place their chip and award cash to all the players for chips on the board at 7 zillion Dollars per chip, with a maximum payoff of 49 zillion Dollars. The first player who claims four spaces in a row (in any direction) is the winner.

The primary difference between Zillionaires on Mars and The Game of 49 (other than the themes) is that monetary amounts in this game are in zillion Dollar amounts whereas the former game used simple Dollar amounts.
