Arcane Wonders to publish Cosmodrome's Aquatica in Dice Tower Essentials line

“The deep waters of the oceans are hiding many secrets and unknown forms of life. Among sharks, whales, corals and shrimps, lives an entire civilization of Sea-Folk. For centuries, the Great Kingdoms of Aquatica have been building their world, raising their kids, and managing to create and prosper. But now their resources are exhausted, and they are forced to explore the Ocean Depths to find new resources for their kingdoms.”

Aquatica, by Cosmodrome Games and designer Ivan Tuzovsky, took the gaming world by surprise when it hit during Essen Spiel 2019. Limited in release, Aquatica is an elegant engine building board game in which 1-4 players use their small deck of personal cards to execute actions: adding more cards to their deck, collecting locations through purchase or conquer, and eventually earning treasures. One last card from the deck can be used to bring all cards back to hand. The game sports a unique triple layer board, into which players slip collected location cards, up to the first in a column of action icons. Actions from cards or icons allow locations to be pushed further into the board, icon by icon, until the card is complete, and the associated treasure can be collected. The components for Aquatica are excellent, from the engaging underwater art to the plastic manta ray bonus tokens.

Now Arcane Wonders has announced that it will be partnering with Cosmodrome to publish Aquatica for wider release, as part of the Dice Tower Essentials line of games. Aquatica will be available in October 2020, with limited quantities available during GenCon Virtual.  For more details, check out Aquatica’s page on Cosmodrome here.
