Announced earlier today on Z-Man Games Facebook page are plans to update their 2010 release, Lords of Scotland. Designed by Richard James (Court of the Medici, Straw, Pirate Den), this medieval themed strategy card game pits players in skirmishes.
Each skirmish played over a series of rounds and in each round, players choose to build their army by playing cards or recruiting clans. After five rounds, in descending order of army strength, players choose a supporter, a point valued card. Then all armies are discarded and a new skirmish begins. The winner is the first player to acquire forty or more points.
So far, Z-Man has only stated that the game will come with a redesigned look and is expected Spring 2015. 2010’s edition came with 99 cards, for 2 to 5 players, ages 12 and up, and a play time of 35 minutes.
