It appears that Z-Man Games will be rereleasing Chinatown in September. Originally published in 1999 and recommended by Spiel des Jahres committee the same year, this classic negotiation game set in the 1960s has players moving into Chinatown as immigrants. In addition, the game has been awarded the multi-player nominee of 2000’s International Gamers Awards for General Strategy and 2008’s Årets Spill Best Family Game Nominee. Chinatown, designed by Karsten Hartwig (Lucky Loop, Augsburg 1520), is a 3 to 5 player game that plays in about an hour. Components will include 171 cards, 90 tiles, 151 markers, a game board, and linen bag.
According to a press release yesterday, Z-Man Games, Filosofia Distribution, Filosofia Editions, and F2Z Digital Media are all merging to become F2Z Entertainment. F2Z is the company that brought the digital version of Pandemic. Filosofia started out as a distribution company and has become a developer of French editions of many titles.
