Unique deck builder/miniatures game Ignite on KS

Ginger Snap Gaming and designer Darren Terpstra have started a Kickstarter Campaign for the deck building, miniatures combat game Ignite. In Ignite, up to 8 players each have 3 miniatures on a square grid board assembled from larger tiles. Using standard deck building mechanisms, players move their miniatures through various terrains, attack their opponents, and buy new cards for their deck when in town. Each card can be used for its abilities or for collecting Honor, the card purchasing power in the game. The terrain types actively modify abilities – it is difficult to move through snow, lava kills characters, it is more difficult to fight in forests, and acid forces players to discard cards.

When a player has lost all of their units, they begin spawning water minions from their starting position, but they no longer use their deck. This allows players to stay involved (playtesters have gotten as many as 3 trophies through smart water minion play), as well as helping speed up the end game.

The large scale (55mm) detailed miniatures have a unique system to track damage – daggers are slotted into the backs of the minis. Ignite comes with 18 oversized miniatures, 36 game board tiles, 75 starter cards and 510 battle cards; With the Freeze Expansion, over 1100 cards are in the game. Randomizer cards and dividers are also included. The Kickstarter Campaign for Ignite continues through May 2, and the game is expected to deliver in May 2020.
