Ascension X: War of Shadows is a new standalone expansion to the beloved deck building series. Coming this July and available for order on May 27th, this newest entry to the Ascension series follows the trend of it’s predecessors of adding in a new twist to the otherwise time-hardened mechanics of the long running series. As described via press release:
New dual-cost Heroes and Constructs require players to use both resources to acquire them and receive incredible power! As the balance between Light and Dark shifts, cards gain additional powers depending on whether it is Night or Day.
Containing 177 new cards, more honor tokens, and a new board, Ascension X is ready for both new and loyal fans. Dual-cost mechanics are a welcome addition to the characteristically rich environment of Ascension, and I imagine the new cards will have power worth their investment. As a fan of the original game, it’s always a pleasure to see the series grow and evolve. One can tell the pride that Stoneblade has in their product and it’s lineage – look at that cover art! It’s gorgeous! Stoneblade is really putting something special in this box, and eager fans can get their hands on it soon!
Stoneblade Entertainment announces that a new card game, Bad Beets, is now available for preorder through July 27 with the free gift of a Bad Beets button.
Bad Beets is a family bluffing game in which players must eat their vegetables by working to get rid of their beets in any way they can. This might include feeding them to the dog or sharing them with others. Players are being required to sit down for dinner and must “eat” (or get rid of) their 8 Beet cards before they can “leave the table”. You can bluff to your heart’s content, but you had better be holding the right card if you get called out!
The game will include:
15 Role Cards
50 Beet Tokens
15 Ice Cream Tokens
5 Action Reminder Cards
Bad Beets is for 2-5 players ages 8 and up and plays very quickly. The game is scheduled to ship to retailers on August 3, 2015. For more information about the game and the preorder, visit the Stoneblade website here.
Cool Mini Or Not came to show off the prototype for their succesful kickstarter game Blood Rage. Designed by Eric Lang, this is a game of vikings where 2-4 players compete for the favor of the gods and march to meet the other clans in glorious battle.

Stoneblade Entertainment revealed the newest set for their highly popular deck-building game Ascension. Called ‘Dawn of Champions’, this set will allow players to take on the role of a faction leader, building up their reputation in order to unlock powerful cards and effects. Ascension: Dawn of Champions can be played as a stand alone game or in combination with other Ascension games.
Eagle Gryphon Games brought out their upcoming release Clockwork Wars. A game of conquest, discovery and espionage for 2-4 players, Clockwork Wars is set in a world of magic and steam era technology where the human ‘Purebreeds’ and the three hybrid races, ‘Troglodytes, Rhinochs and Mongrels’ are locked in a war for survival and control.
