Star Wars: The Card Game
Fantasy Flight Games are releasing the final Force Pack in the Alliances cycle for Star Wars: The Card Game, a game designed by Eric M. Lang. In Star Wars: The Card Game you command legendary characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Boba Fett, and Darth Vader and launch strategic assaults against your opponent’s objectives. In this two player game, you tempt fate with Edge battles and either ally with the Force or master it’s power for the Dark Side.
The Promise of Power Force Pack includes ten new objective sets and rewards players for melding affiliations together in a single deck. It also includes plenty of characters from Star Wars Rebels, the animated TV show, with a new version of Ezra Bridger, Cikatro Vizago, and more Inquisitors being added to the game.
While this is the final Force Pack for this cycle it is also the final release for Star Wars: The Card Game. Over the past five years the game has seen five deluxe expansions and six cycles of Force Packs. With the game now complete, the Star Wars World Championships in May will be the final Organized Play World Championship for the game.
Bringing on the third installment in the Alliances cycle of Star Wars: The Card Game by Fantasy Flight Games. Desperate Circumstances brings in the opportunity for players to now recruit from the fringes of the galaxy as opposed to the traditional sources of fighters for the rebels and imperials. Featuring five different objective sets this addition to the cycle will provide some interesting variety. With his set focusing heavily on the use of multiple affiliations and the cards to make having those affiliations concurrently this will bring some new to the game that has not necessarily been available previously.
This set is anticipated to hit shelves in Fall 2017. For more details you can see the blog post by FFG announcing it in more detail here.
Are you the galaxy’s greatest starfighter ace? Can you slip through corporate servers like a ghost? Or, perhaps, you’re ready to make your bid for the Iron Throne…

There are those who push their luck daily to make another handful of credits and stay ahead of the authorities. These free spirits – the smugglers and spies of the galaxy – are united in their hatred of the Empire’s oppression, and they’re willing to fight to keep their freedom, no matter the odds against them.
Fantasy Flight Games announces its newest deluxe expansion for Star Wars: The Card Game, Imperial Entanglements. This new expansion includes 26 new objective sets, 2 new fate cards, and many new vehicles and characters such as Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, TIE Phantoms, and Grand Moff Tarkin himself.
The new objective sets will include Debt of Honor, a wookie-themed objective that allows you to shuffle your dead or sacrificed Wookiees back into your deck, ensuring that they can return to play later. The Tarkin Doctrine objective helps you restrict the light side’s attacks by forcing the light side player to spend two resources in order to make a chosen attack each turn.
This deluxe expansion is centered around the smugglers, rogues, and spies that have made a name for themselves in the Star Wars universe. This new expansion is set for release in the third quarter of 2015. For more information on this expansion, visit the FFG website here.

In this collection you will find thirteen figures that were previously only available in the first edition of Descent, but now they have been reimagined with new sculpts and artwork.

Again, all of this wholesome goodness will be available this October.
Evasive Maneuvers is the third pack in the Rogue Squadron Cycle for Star Wars: The Card Game
Evasive Maneuvers, which is do to release in the first quarter of 2015, focuses on approaching the edge battles in different ways with the inclusion of new Scum and Villainy objectives and character cards. Now winning an edge battle is not a must-do for every player.
Losing the edge might be a dramatic setback for some units, but never for the deadly Assassin and Mercenary, Dannik Jerriko (Evasive Maneuvers, 764). Dannik Jerriko’s own combat icons are edge-enabled, but that hardly matters, because this Anzati also bears the text, “While this unit is attacking, resolve edge-enabled icons on friendly units as if you had the edge.” Not only do you resolve Dannik Jerriko’s combat icons as if you have the edge, but if he’s attacking, then every friendly attacking unit benefits from his ability. With the help of Dannik Jerriko, even units like Greedo (Edge of Darkness, 370) can become reliable combatants.
This new set will change the way many view and approach edge battles adding even more strategic and tactical gameplay to each battle.
You’ll uncover a host of cards in Evasive Maneuvers that give you ways to trick your opponent. Whether you intentionally lose edge battles with Dannik Jerriko, hide in the shadows with Vima-Da-Boda, or lead from the front in the Capital Ship Independence, you’ll find the cards you need in this Force Pack.
