CMON has announced the release of Krosmaster Arena 2.0, releasing Friday, 10/21/2016, at Friendly Local Game Stores. The second edition of Krosmaster Arena features “eight exclusive characters from DOFUS the movie, each represented by highly-detailed and fully-painted miniatures. The arena itself is transformed into a three-dimensional battlefield full of obstacles and scenery that will have you stretching your tactical muscles to gain an advantage.”
Krosmaster Arena 2.0 is compatible with previous Krosmaster figures, bringing an all-new, wider range of adventures for players. For more information on this new edition of the game, visit the CMON page here.
Fans of the original adventure and survival game Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island will be interested to know what specific changes will be present in Portal’s new release of the game under the Portal banner. According to Portal’s latest news release, the major notable changes will include:
- a “typical” square game box, as opposed to the original’s coffin box
- a fancier 1st Player Token
- an additional 7th Scenario
- Character Sheets on thick cardboard, as opposed to the thin sheets in the original
- shaped wooden resource components, as opposed to the cubes in the original
- redesigned Discovery Tokens with thematic names on them
- character stickers for the wooden player pawns
- a freshly-reworked rulebook (I like how Portal points out that the original “explains nothing” and the new one “explains everything”)
Preorders are currently being accepted, and this new release is scheduled for release in November of 2016. For more information, visit Portal’s new release here.
Z-Man Games would like to announce the second expansion set for the time travel game, Tragedy Looper, entitled Tragedy Looper: Cosmic Evil. This new expansion set will include three new Basic Tragedy Scripts, and nine scripts that tackle two new Tragedy Sets: Midnight Zone and Mystery Circle.
The following is an excerpt from the product announcement page on Z-Man’s website concerning the expansion:
In Midnight Zone, what you think you know may not be what you truly know. Lies and deceptions abound as you try to unravel the truth.
In Mystery Circle, there are no evil spirits or superhuman powers – they don’t exist. This is a world where only logic and deduction prevails.
Z-Man is aiming for a Gen Con 2016 release for the expansion this summer. For more information on this new release, visit Z-Man’s website here.
Asmodee gave an exciting new announcement this week at the GAMA Trade Show in Las Vegas: a new edition of Reiner Knizia’s fast-paced auction game, Ra. In the game, players compete to build the best Ancient Egyptian civilization by using actions to acquire tiles. Tiles collected represent cultural achievements, architectural wonders, Ancient Egyptian deities, and even the Nile itself. Player turns involve either adding to the pool of tiles or “invoking Ra” to hold an auction to bid on tiles. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner. The game is for 2-5 players and plays in under an hour.
The game will be released by a new publishing studio in the Asmodee Group, WindRider Games. This new edition features an all new graphic design based on the art of Ancient Egypt, and is the third game in the Euro Classics line, which WindRider is taking over from Fantasy Flight Games.
Steven Kimball, head of WindRider Games, expressed his excitement that Ra would be WindRider’s first release. “It’s one of Dr. Knizia’s most beloved designs because of its high amount of player interaction and the difficult decisions that create tense, dramatic gaming moments,” said Kimball.
Ra is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2016.
