sci fi board game

Myraclia, from RUDY3 Publishing and designed by Rudolf Priecinsky, is a game of drafting, terraforming, and expanding for 2-5 players.

The planet Myraclia is a deserted and inhospitable place that players are attempting to turn into the planet of their dreams! However, this is no cooperative game. You each have your own idea of what Myraclia should be and so, you each are fighting over resources to create your vision.

Players will begin by drafting elements and determining player order, then turn by turn they will terraform Myraclia by utilizing the resources they drafted, and finally they will expand using a tile-placement mechanic.

The Tiny Epic Games just got tinier. Gamelyn Games announced Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies, designed by Scott Almes, to bring this game to a size that might actually be able to fit inside your pocket.

The Tiny Epic series has taken the game market by storm by offering a lot of game in a little box with each game feeling very different from one another while maintaining familiarity between each one. Now, Gamelyn Games is trying to shrink the boxes even further.

Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies will come in a box that is the size of a deck of cards. It will include all 40 of the original cards found in Tiny Epic Galaxies and will still be able to play at a player count of 1-5. This box will also include the mini- expansion, Satellites & Super Weapons. This game will be hitting Kickstarter soon.

Dreadball is a sci-fi american football game where hard hits are the norm and crazy things will show up on the field to do battle.  The original Dreadball was released in 2012 and since then it has had multiple teams added to the game and five seasons worth of rulebooks released, so it’s time for a reboot.  Dreadball 2.0 will have all the great gameplay you remember from the original, but streamlined and updated.  As said on the Kickstarter; “The new edition grew out of demand from the community. For existing players, DreadBall 2nd Edition is all about streamlining the rules, improving the components, supporting the community and getting it growing all over again.”  The rulebook will compile all the previous rulebooks into one edition, have information for all the existing teams, as well as updated rules for the ultimate game for 3-6 players.

Overall the game looks good and will come with enough figures to play right out of the box, no assembly required.  If this new edition sounds interesting to you then head on over to the Kickstarter page to pledge before it ends on August 7th.
