CMoN has been publishing Zombicide for quite a while now, and during that time the branding and IP rights have been with Guillotine Games.  Now that relationship is changing with CMoN acquiring all those rights from Guillotine Games for the Zombicide line.  This allows CMoN to now design and publish Zombicide content apart from Guillotine Games, however, the two companies will still work closely with each other.  Guillotine Games will still be designing other games and will continue to work with CMoN to publish them, so look forward to future titles from the partnered companies.  You can read more about the change on the CMoN site.

Another change for CMoN recently is that they have entered into a partnership with Australian company Good Games Publishing.  With this agreement CMoN becomes their distributor to all French and English countries outside of Australia and New Zealand.  The first games that fall under this new agreement will be the upcoming game Monstrous, slated for release this quarter, and Unfair, which is scheduled for Kickstarter launch August 16th.  This announcement also coincides with Good Games setting up a store in the Indianapolis area, thus setting up for their expansion into the US market.  You can read the press release below for more information and look forward to the wider release of their games through CMoN.

CMON Limited and Good Games Publishing are proud to announce a strategic relationship beginning today, Thursday, Aug 4 2016. CMON will co-brand, market and distribute the new Australian publisher’s board games in all French and English territories outside of Australia and New Zealand.

The partnership begins with Good Games’ upcoming Monstrous, releasing Q3 2016, and Unfair, heading to Kickstarter on August 16, 2016 with a planned retail release of Q4 2016.

“We are excited to help CMON diversify their hobby game line. Australian design sensibilities are eclectic and hybridised. We look forward to CMON’s help in getting our games to the broadest audience possible,” said Kim Brebach, Director of Good Games Publishing

With Good Games’ innovative, creative and high-quality titles, the partnership is a perfect match, and we’re sure our fans will agree once they play these new games,” said Chern Ann Ng, CEO of CMON Limited.

“We bring more eclectic games, and they bring a wealth of experience in various areas of development, production and marketing we can tap into. CMON is a perfect partner to help us straddle the Kickstarter and retail dimensions of game marketing. This relationship will be a series of wins,” Brebach added.

Good Games, founded in 2006, Australian game store chain with 24 company-owned and franchise stores in Australia, has announced that they would be expanding their company by adding a publishing division.  In January, Good Games revealed their plans to commence retail operation in the United States in 2016.

Good Games has released the following press release concerning these plans:

Good Games Publishing will bring a number of game titles to market in 2016, beginning with MONSTROUS, a Greek mythology-themed tactical dexterity game with deluxe art, in April / May.
“We look forward to bringing fun Australian games to the global market in 2016 and beyond,” said Kim Brebach, Director of Good Games Publishing, adding “We have games in the pipeline that appeal to gamers, families & their kids, and more social gamers too”.
Kim expanded about the company, “Excellence in game play, art and production quality will be a hallmark of our games. We also bring our retail and distribution experience into our vision of what our games can achieve.”
“Industry folk can find us at the upcoming GAMA trade show, and we look forward to bringing our best to Gen Con in August,” said Kim.

In addition to being a large game store chain, Good Games also operates Australia’s largest tabletop game distributor.  For more information on Good Games and their upcoming publishing endeavors, visit the Good Games publishing website here.

A new upstart design house on Kickstarter, Secret Base Games is teaming up with Good Games – the largest hobby game distributor and game store chain in Australia – to bring you MONSTROUS, a tactical dexterity game of cunning card throwing and hand management designed by Kim Brebach. MONSTROUS is a 30 minute game for 2-5 angry gods, each trying to use their terrible monsters to drive the most people back into their long abandoned temples.

Each player takes turns choosing a monster from their hand and throwing it onto the table, trying to land the card on top of other player’s monsters or on one of the preset locations spread around the table in order to activate the special abilities of the cards. Choose carefully what monsters you play – every monster is double sided with a different power on each side – and be careful what you aim for or you might accidentally fall into one of your opponents’ traps! Once one player runs out of cards to play, all other players take 1 final turn and the player with the most faith wins. Are you ready to release the Kraken?
