Fantasy Flight Games has announced Altered Fates, a new DLC scenario for Mansions of Madness. Accept a new mission in a new country, work together across time to discover the truth behind the mysterious heirloom, and return to your own time before it’s too late!
Evil is spreading across the sea and now you must leave Arkham behind for the Old World. You have been called to a special investigation in the English countryside. Tasked with protecting the peculiar family heirloom of a prestigious family, when you arrive, you find the heirloom has already fallen into the wrong hands. While the purpose of the item is unknown, evil plans are certainly already underway. Almost as soon as you arrive, your team of investigators is separated – not by space, but by time!
Cast out of time, some investigators are left in the present while others seemed to be trapped in the future. How did this happen? Could it be the thieves’ work? Or perhaps this is an effect of the strange heirloom? How can your team continue the investigation when you are divided by the span of ages? Most importantly, how do you find your way back home?
Double the maps, double the terror
Altered Fates challenges investigators by dividing the team across two maps that are in play simultaneously. The first is a proper 1920s mansion, while the second, however, is the future of this home— now an abandoned, boarded-up building.
“Each map presents its own series of challenges, with the investigators in the present directly affecting the investigation of their companions in the future: an item tucked beneath a loose floorboard may be found later in the same hiding place, or a rescued captive may be able to return to the mansion in the future.”
The investigators in the future must contend with the consequences left to them by their friends in the past. Moreover, beyond the obvious terrors behind every door, something darker lurks – a truth you cannot bear to face. The house is scarred by some unspeakable horror that happened long ago, and you can only guess at the fate of those you left behind. Your only hope is that those who opened the portal may have left something, some clue to how to return and warn your friends!
Altered Fates is now available as an in-app purchase on the App Store, Google Play, Amazon and Steam!
Mansions of Madness Second Edition is a fully cooperative, app-driven board game of horror and mystery for one to five players. It takes place in the same universe as Eldritch Horror and Elder Sign.
Fantasy Flight Games provided a small preview to their new expansion to A Game of Thrones: The Card Game last year when they first announced Sands of Dorne. While every faction is supported in The Sands of Dorne expansion, House Martell receives special attention to become contenders with the other factions. The powerful Doran Martell card was previewed in the release announcement. The latest preview focuses on the new Red Viper card and his ability to become more powerful with each challenge won with a Bastard character. Even Ellaria Sand, the Red Viper’s paramour, is a deadly force who can wear down opponent defenses. And with the No Use For Grief event card, House Martell will never be at a loss for Sand Snakes or The Red Viper himself. Sanctum of Twilight, the new expansion for the Mansions of Madness, brings us the esteemed societal Order of the Silver Twilight, investigators Lily Chen and Charlie Kane, new tiles, a new monster, a new type of token in the form of Restraints. The Sanctum of Twilight expansion unlocks two new digital adventures for you to continue your adventures in Arkham. The latest preview explores the scenario The Twilight Diadem. In the Twilight Diadem, the Silver Twilight Lodge hosts the annual Twilight Fair, a weeklong event that concludes with the crowning of the Queen of Love and Beauty at the lavish Twilight Ball. Last year’s Queen mysteriously disappeared. The scenario introduces a new map element in the form of parade floats that move throughout the scenario and overlap other map tiles. The parade will become crowded and distinguishing friend and foe will become harder. If investigators find themselves surrounded, a new magical implement in the form of the Binding spell, which allows players to place a Restraint token in a space within range, may aid in their escape. Will your investigators bring an end to the plots of the Order of the Silver Twilight? Read the preview to learn more about The Twilight Diadem scenario.
Fantasy Flight Games have announced the next box expansion to Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition
, Sanctum of Twilight
, to be released in the first quarter of 2018. The latest expansion does not come from across the thin veil that divides worlds, but instead comes from within the city itself.
It is a mistake to fancy that horror is associated inextricably with darkness, silence, and solitude.
–H.P. Lovecraft, “Cool Air”
The Sanctum of Twilight expansion focuses on The Order of the Silver Twilight, a powerful and secretive society operating within Arkham. Sanctum of Twilight continues to use the same fully cooperative, app driven game system and requires the base game to play. Sanctum of Twilight will add new tiles and cards, a new monster, and two new investigators.
Sanctum of Twilight will have players investigating wealthy members of the Silver Twilight Lodge who wield forbidden arcane powers, alongside the considerable and more earthy influence their societal status bring them. Two new investigators join players to uncover the Lodge’s misdeeds.
- Lily Chen has spent a lifetime training with an obscure sect of monks who believed she was destined to face a great evil.
- Politician Charlie Kane never believed that in confronting political issues in Arkham would have him also negotiating with monsters and cults. Kane better be successful, only those who are still alive can votes come election time.
A new Restraints token has been added to the Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition system. While not possessions, they can be played on maps to bind monsters to spaces. Investigators can choose to have monsters starting their turns with restraints forfeit their movement in exchange for discarding a restraint token.
The Sanctum of Twilight release of the expansion will unlocks two new digital adventures.
Behind Closed Doors might start with a literal stroll through the park, but it’s not so relaxing when you realize someone is watching you. Eventually the world of the players will go dark, and it won’t be much brighter when they finally awake in a dark cell.
In Twilight Diadem the Silver Twilight Lodge is hosting the annual Twilight Fair.
As per tradition, on the last day of the Fair a young debutante is crowned the Queen of Love and Beauty at the Twilight Ball. But when this year’s queen, Mary Ann Chase, comes to you insisting that the Silver Twilight Lodge is up to something sinister, you know that you are the only one who can help her. The Twilight Fair, she insists, is not all that it seems.
Twilight Diadem introduces new moving tiles, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the fair while parade floats move along. Players might be swept out of dangers way, but they also might have unseen enemies moving towards them with little chance to escape.

Fantasy Flight Games has begun following the antics of your favorite Arkham Horror investigators in a new series of novellas as they confront the unknowable horrors that drive people to madness. Hour of the Huntress, the first title in the series, is available now.
In addition to the story, each novella will also come with a full-color insert filled with notes, fliers, newspaper clippings, book excerpts, letters and more that the investigators in the book have used to find their clues. Each novella will also include five exclusive cards for us in Arkham Horror: The Card Game. The cards will feature one rules card, one alternate art investigator and alternative art mini-card, and two investigator signature cards that feature the “replacement” keyword that allow you two use them in place of the normal signature card.
You’re possibly already familiar with the investigators through their impressive work in Arkham Horror, Elder Sign, Mansions of Madness (2nd Edition), and the Arkham Horror: The Card Game LCG. The new novellas will follow the investigators popular in all these games into rich new stories.
Heavily influenced by the work and world of H.P. Lovecraft, the new novellas are also set in the roaring 20s, placing investigators in New England where they investigate the truths revealed when the thin veil between our world and another constantly shifts. Unlike so many Lovecraft novels, the protagonists in these stories are willing to face this danger and see just how immortal the old ones really are.
Hour of the Huntress
The first novella features “Jenny” Barnes.
Guinevere “Jenny” Barnes never guessed that she would be returning to America so soon, or under such circumstances. Arkham, Massachusetts, is a far cry from Paris, but after her sister’s regular correspondence became increasingly deranged—then ceased entirely—Jenny couldn’t shake the feeling that something terrible had happened to Ozzie. As Jenny begins the search for her sister, she quickly realizes that Isabelle isn’t the only girl in Arkham who has gone missing. How might the disappearances be connected? And why do the flyers for the local harvest festival depict the face from a medallion Jenny sent to her sister?
Written by Dave Gross, the novella follows Barnes on her quest to find her missing sister in the mysterious town of Arkham.
