Renegade Games has been partnering with Dire Wolf Digital to bring some of their physical games into the mobile space, such titles include Lotus and Lanterns: The Harvest Festival. So to kick off the holiday season they have announced updates to their digital games of Lotus and Lanterns as well as a new update to their companion app.
Lotus is a game all about forming beautiful flowers and using some area control to make sure that when the flowers finish and score, you are the ones getting the points. The app version of this game brought the game into beautiful 3D with excellent graphics and animation, bringing this simple card game up to another level. The update featured for the app is that the leader-board and friends list of the game is compatible with Lanterns, so now you can challenge friends from either game to either game you own. You can purchase the app in the App Store or on Google Play.
Lanterns is a simple tile laying game where you lay down tiles in order to collection various colored lantern cards. You will then use these lantern cards to make dedications and depending on which array of colors you turn in will net you different points. Like Lotus the app version of Lanterns elevates the game by giving it some beautiful graphics and scenery along with great animation. The app even has the expansion, The Emperor’s Gift, available for download as well. The update featured for the app is that the leader-board and friends list of the game is compatible with Lotus, so now you can challenge friends from either game to either game you own. You can purchase the app in the App Store or on Google Play.
And finally, Renegade games has updated their companion app, adding in some content for their latest game, Clank in Space. Already the app includes content for the games FUSE, Flatline, and the original Clank game. But with this latest update you will now be able to play Clank in Space solo, with you going against the AI as you explore Lord Eradikus’ starship alone. The update has already been made so you can either check your app now, or download it for free from the App Store or Google Play.
Last year at Gen Con, CMON released Bloodborne: The Card Game, designed by Eric M. Lang, and sold out before the show ended. This year at Gen Con, CMON announced an expansion to the game, titled The Hunter’s Nightmare, collaboratively designed by Eric M. Lang and Christopher Chung (designer of Lanterns: The Harvest Festival). Bloodborne: The Card Gamecan be played with 3 to 5 players in about 30 – 45 minutes and involves players exploring a Chalice Dungeon deck of monsters before facing a final boss. It’s a competitive game that contains hand management, dice rolling, and push your luck elements.
Return to the Chalice Dungeons in the upcoming Bloodborne: The Card Game – The Hunter’s Nightmare. In this expansion, players must survive against new, deadly bosses and monsters; however, new weapons will help Hunters along the way. The Hunter’s Nightmare also introduces two new gameplay features: Death Tokens and Runes, both of which will have lasting effects throughout your games. Bloodborne: The Card Game – The Hunter’s Nightmare arrives at your FLGS in Q1 2018. We’ll take a closer look at it before then, so keep your weapons ready.
Clank! fans who download the free Renegade Game Studios Companion App will enjoy “Mini-Quests” that add even more excitement and replayability to the game. An official solo play mode also allows individual players to enjoy the game on their own.
The app launched last year with support for FUSE by adding a free thematic 10-minute timer with a taunting voice-over to enhance the player’s experience. The Clank! addition to the app is also a free, optional add-on.
To coincide with the release of the first Tabletop episode featuring the game Lanterns, Renegade games has announced the launch of the Lanterns app. The app is now available in both the iTunes and Google Play stores for download on your phone and tablet devices for $4.99. The game features a solo mode and a multiplayer mode using pass and play or online playing along with ranked matching. The app itself looks amazing with the tiles fading away when played to look like lanterns floating on a lake. The game will also come with achievements that you can strive towards in order to unlock new art for the game. So if you are a fan of the game I would say take a look at the app on either iTunes or Google Play.

Designed by Christopher Chung and published by Renegade Games studio, Lanterns is a hit family-weight tile laying game where players attempt to collect lantern cards by strategically placing their tiles. Sets of lantern cards are traded in sets to score honor (points) in this game. The twist in this game comes from the fact that all players will receive lantern cards when you place a tile, so you’ll always have to watch what your opponents are collecting.
The new expansion, designed by Jason D. Kingsley, includes player pavilions that can be built on tiles that you place. Colour matches between your pavilion and the tile earn you a new currency that allows you to activate new special abilities from the Emperor. This expansion will add a new level of depth to those already familiar with the game as these new actions will have to be taken into account for you to surpass your opponents!
Lanterns: The Emperor’s Gift will hit stores in January 2017.
