Quined Games has announced their first releases for the new year with Haspelknecht: The Ruhr Valley and the fulfillment and wide release of their Kickstarter game, La Cosa Nostra. Haspelknecht: The Ruhr Valley in the first expansion to the previously released game, Haspelknecht, where you are farmers digging for newly discovered coal. The expansion will bring into the game 2 new modules to play with as well as 21 new development tiles, bringing a lot of new content to this game. Now you will be able to dig deeper through the use of iron, sell your coal to the new barges coming down the river, and building water channels to help drain the pits of water. Look for this expansion to hit stores in early 2017.
The second game being released is their mafia themed Kickstarter game, La Cosa Nostra. You can check out our previous article to get more information, but at this point they are at the end of the development/production phase of the game. This means backers will be getting their games soon, and those that didn’t back will see the game on store shelves in early 2017.
Lastly Quined Games is going to continue publishing games in their Masterprint Pocket series, but they need a new game to publish. So they are putting the call out to anyone with a small card game to send them their prototype for review and comment, and if you impress them enough they just might publish it. You can head over to their website to contact them for more information.
La Cosa Nostra is the latest game being Kickstarted by Quined Games, and it’s a whole lot of mobsters contained in a box. In La Cosa Nostra you are trying to be the top dog, the kingpin of all the organized crime in the city, and so you will need to fight and deal all the way to the top. In each round of the game you will be hiring new gangsters, going on jobs, killing other gangsters, buying up businesses, and more in the effort to get more money. When you go on jobs you will roll dice to see how well you do, the higher you roll the more likely you are to get a better return, but roll poorly and the job fails. Then there is the fact some jobs require you to already own certain businesses, and this is where the deals come in. When making deals you can offer anything you like except the cards in your hand, and if you manage to strike a deal you will be able to use the business you selected at a later time. Say you want to steal some cars, but to do that you need the garage your opponent has, so you have to make it worth their while to allow you to use it. In the end whoever has the most money will have the most power and is deemed the winner.
The game lasts about 90 minutes and is all about playing cards at the right time and making good deals. The art is nicely done and at a cost of only 25 euro, not a bad price either. Head on over to the campaign page to pledge for your own copy today.
Quined Games is proud to announce the release of three new Master Print titles in 2016:
Vanuatu: a medium-heavy Euro that transports players to the South Pacific, where they will “try to catch fish and find treasures, welcome tourists to the archipelago, and draw beautiful sand drawings, a tradition that is on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.” The Master Print edition will include the “Rising Waters” expansion, which adds a whole new level of tension to the game in the form of Global Warming. This edition will also introduce The Governess, a new character to the game. The new edition will feature all new artwork by Konstantin Vohwinkel, and is scheduled to launch on Kickstarter in late April 2016.

La Cosa Nostra: From the publisher: “In La Cosa Nostra, you take on the role of a mafia boss. During the game, you will hire new gangsters to do the dirty work and collect your money. To get the big deals, you need to cooperate with the other families — but never rely on those “friendships”. The others will take the first opportunity to stab you in the back, so you better do it first…” In cooperation with author/ designer /artist Johannes Sich, Quined Games will bring a redesigned English version of this game to Kickstarter in June of 2016.
