Back on Kickstarter with some new revisions. This is a Euro style game that sees you as a merchant, looking to profit from the budding trade in Amsterdam in the 1600s. You’ll be investing in enterprises like Tea, Gold and even Opium. Constructing larger and lager warehouses to stock these wonderful wares. And all this is done with two simple choices that you have on your turn. Buy some land or build a warehouse.
Your goal? Profit and wealth. You’ll be changing the face of Amsterdam in a 3-Dimensional aspect, with plastic warehouse pieces that can be stacked as well as be placed side by side. All this is done with card collecting, much like in Ticket To Ride. But you are going to have to time your action well. Building in the right space at the right time could make you a lager profit that you could then spend to invest into one of the nine different stocks. Then remembering who has invested in what, becomes another element of strategy, as players can become the owners of those warehouses. This will net them a very large profit at the end of the game.
New addition to the game are scaling, so a two player game feels as tight as a six player game. Also there are now events that will happen. These will shake up the market a little, just like in real life. A ship of rich silks could sink in a storm, rising the demand and value for them.
A very laid back, smooth euro that feels familiar as well as having a great challenge. You can find it now, on Kickstarter
Just revealed at the GAMA Trade Show in Reno, Nevada, two enticing new products are on their way from WizKids themed on the ever-popular Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The first, Heroes of Dominaria, is a euro-style board game where 2 to 4 players explore iconic regions from the series while collecting mana, recruiting heroes, and uncovering artifacts to press an advantage in this competitive game. There’s an element of territory control as planeswalkers will construct leylines and sites to capitalize on resources and locations in order to secure the most points and claim victory. As described in the press release:
“In Magic: The Gathering: Heroes of Dominaria Board Game, players take on the role of a powerful Hero as they travel to the lands of Dominaria. As the player explores the ancient lands, they will need to build sites, rediscover lost artifacts, and confront the sinister Cabal in order to gain the resources needed to save the multiverse before rival Heroes do. […] The land of Dominaria is filled with adventure and excitement! In true Eurogame fashion, use strategy to score the most victory points and emerge victorious.”
Heroes of Dominaria will be releasing in two versions – a standard version and a premium version, the only difference being that the premium game will include 4 pre-painted miniatures. Speaking of miniatures, the second product revealed is the Magic: The Gathering Creature Forge: Overwhelming Swarm. This new line will start with 28 sculpts that are meant to be used as stand-ins for the most common creature tokens used in the card game. Magic players have been slightly spoiled for choice when it comes to token representation in their matches, but miniatures are not-at-all unwelcome and will surely be a compelling and eye-catching option. For more information regarding these two new products from WizKids, be sure to check out their press release and website for further updates.
Gentres, designed by Stephen Risthaus, is being Kickstarted now by Tasty Minstrel Games and will be getting the Deluxified™ treatment.
Gentres is a civilization game for 2-4 players and will last around 90 minutes. In this game, players take the role of an ancient people who are attempting to develop their society by building monuments and colonizing or founding new cities in the Mediterranean sea.
The game lasts 6 rounds with each round consisting of two phases. During the Heyday phase, players will carry out their actions using two precious commodities (coins and time). The more you spread out the time tokens, the fewer actions you can perform. However if you combine time tokens, you can carry out more actions this round but fewer next round. Once all players pass, the Decline phase begins which is where clean-up and setup for the next round takes place.
Tasty Minstrel Games has listed the following upgrades to Gentes for the Deluxified™ treatment over the retail edition: A Foil-Stamped box, Box Sleeve, 6 Oversized Silkscreened Meeples, 24 Normal-sized Silkscreened Meeples, 89 Metal Coins, 28 Stickered Wood Action Tokens, 20 Silk Silkscreened Lock Tokens, 60 Silkscreened Wood Hourglass Tokens, 4 Dual-layered Player Boards, and 4 Custom-shaped Score Tokens.

Players are hungry little goblins, trying to gobble up as many stones as possible to score points. Be a clever goblin and eat up the most valuable stones, but don’t be too greedy…. a stuffed goblin is a slow goblin! The more stones you gobble, the bigger you get, and the fattest goblin wins!
Gobble Stones is family strategy game. It plays 2-4 player and it’s for ages 10 and up. It will take 30+ minutes to complete a game.
Rome: City of Marble
Influence and direct new construction of the expanding metropolis through shrewd development of the city’s districts. Construct various civic buildings: Temples for worship, Baths for health, Theaters and Arenas for arts and entertainment. The more you build, the more you gain Imperium, the measure of real power and influence in Roman society.
This a tile-laying game for 2-4 players, ages 14+, and it will take around 60 minutes to play.
Trading goods reaped from your plantations, you acquire shares of companies based in Mombasa, Saint-Louis, Cape Town and Cairo. However, the value of a company is only as good as its sphere of influence. So expanding into new territories is vital if you want your investments to pay off. Players start with an identical hand, but acquire new and more powerful cards from the rotating display throughout the game.
Will you collect diamonds or opt for clever bookkeeping? Will you play aggressively by expanding companies and pushing back others, or will you sit on the fence and jump in at an opportune moment? Perhaps a little of everything!
This is billed as a tense Euro-style strategy game which plays 2-4 players, ages 12+ with a 90 minute play time.
