Eric Lang and Kevin Wilson have been co-designging the Munchkin Collective Card Game with artist John Kovalic. Designed for competitive level play, the game still maintains the level of goofy that players expect from Munckin games.

Eric Lang described the differences between the original Munchkin game and the new Collectable Card Game:,

Munchkin TCGis a very different game from Munchkin. Imagine all the awesome humor of Munchkin as a short, competitive head-to-head slugfest.

The game will play as combat game form 2-4 players who level up while putting loot into play, attack (or bluff) against other players in an attempt to eliminate them first.

Cool Mini or Not (CMON) has just announced that they have hired Eric M. Lang as Director of Game Design as of April 1, 2017. Eric is one of today’s most prolific and respected game designers with a 20 year legacy. The catalog of games Eric has worked on is too long to list in entirety, but includes such classics as Dice Masters, Blood Rage, XCOM, Quarriors, The Others, Arcane Academy, Bloodborne and Arcadia Quest. Eric has won numerous awards over the years, including the Diana Jones Award for Excellence in Gaming in 2016, 5 Origins Awards and multiple Dice Tower Awards. Upcoming releases by Eric Lang include the CMON Kickstarter Rising Sun and The Godfather: Corleone’s Empire.

The hype train that’s been loudly chugging along since the game’s announcement at Gen Con 2016 only continues to gain momentum as CMON launches the Rising Sun Kickstarter! Referred to as the spiritual successor of Blood Rage, the vaunted duo of Eric M. Lang (designer) and Adrian Smith (artist) reunite in this hotly anticipated game of politics, strength, and honor.

Rising Sun is a board game for 3 to 5 players set in legendary feudal Japan. As the Kami descend from the heavens to reshape the land in their image, it is up to each player to lead their clan to victory. Use politics to further your cause, negotiate to seek the most profitable alliances, worship the Kami to gain their favor, recruit monsters out of legend to bolster your forces, and use your resources wisely to be victorious in battle.

In Rising Sun, you’ll utilize asymmetrical clan powers, form and break alliances, bluff, and defeat your opponents in war during all seasons of a year to become the victorious new Emperor! The miniatures are extremely detailed , thanks to the direction of Mike McVey, and there are already many unlocked stretch goals, including a sacred warrior panda.

You don’t want to miss out on this game! For more information or to back this game, visit the Rising Sun Kickstarter page.

Award winning designer Eric Lang tweeted that he’s working on an expansion for Bloodborne: The Card Game. Bloodborne: The Card Game was unveiled at Gen Con 2016 and sold out during the conference.  Published by CMON Limited, the game is based on the difficult, yet rewarding PS4 video game. It supports 3 to 5 players and contains card drafting, dice rolling, hand management, and press your luck mechanics.

“I got permission to mention that I’m working on a Bloodborne card game expansion. Co-designed with [Chris Chung] @FlashForwardCo. Hoping for Q4 release :)” – Eric Lang @eric_lang

Chris Chung designed Lanterns: The Harvest Festival and is the brains behind Flash Forward Games, where he designs games focusing on simplicity.

I’m extremely excited to see what Eric and Chris come up with to make this already wonderful game even better!

For those of you who love to chuck dice or pretend to be ninja, you will be green with happiness to know that WizKids and designers Mike Elliott and Eric M. Lang just brought us the next iteration of the collectible dice building game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dice Masters.

Expanding on the original game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dice Masters: Heroes In A Half Shell Box Set introduces 8 new characters.  The new set also contains game play scenarios supporting 2 to 4 players.

Play as new versions of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello or Michelangelo or as allies or villains and each throw of the dice from this new box set will be sure to capture the imagination of Dice Masters rookies and veterans alike.

Dice Tower Con has just launched it’s brand new website for the sixth year of the convention.  The new website offers loads more information and links to help you know what to expect from the convention and how to take full advantage of it.  You will see info like both Eric Lang and Ignacy Trzewiczek being special guests of honor at this year’s convention, an event schedule for the convention, and even a list of the games in the library.  Also as the time for the convention draws closer you will start to see links appear for things like the flea market and the math trade that happens each year at the convention.  Needless to say, the new site is a nice upgrade over the previous site so be sure to take a look, and if you hurry you might be able to get a ticket to the convention if you don’t already have one as there are still a few left.

Dice Masters continues to grow and so Wizkids has to continue to find more heroes and villains to add to the series, so now they’ve brought in the X-Men from their early days.  X-Men First Class will have 30 new characters in total, some will be from Professor X’s first team he put together to What If? characters and stories from the comic books.  This set will be a booster only set so you will only be able to get these characters in the two cards boosters and not in any form of starter set.  Planned release for this set is April of 2017, so look forward to expanding your collection yet again.
