Zen Bins has made a name for itself as an inexpensive and yet effective storage solution for collectible dice games like Dice Masters and the newly released Destiny. Both have a need to be able to not only store some cards, but also a good number of dice to field with those cards. In Destiny’s case, tokens as well. So Zen Bins is Kickstarting an update to their previous system with spots for tokens to be stored along with the cards and dice. An interesting add-on that they have to offer this time around is the blinder, this allows you to keep your dice hidden so that they aren’t visible to your opponent until the game starts.
Having used their previous model to store my Dice Masters I can say that they are very good quality for the money and do exactly what they set out to do. So Destiny players should check out their Kickstarter page and pledge for a set.
For those of you who love to chuck dice or pretend to be ninja, you will be green with happiness to know that WizKids and designers Mike Elliott and Eric M. Lang just brought us the next iteration of the collectible dice building game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dice Masters.
Expanding on the original game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dice Masters: Heroes In A Half Shell Box Set introduces 8 new characters. The new set also contains game play scenarios supporting 2 to 4 players.
Play as new versions of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello or Michelangelo or as allies or villains and each throw of the dice from this new box set will be sure to capture the imagination of Dice Masters rookies and veterans alike.

Deadpool seems to be all over everything geeky these days, and some places in the main stream culture, so of course games about him are coming too. Well, maybe not a game, but an expansion to a highly popular game and that is Marvel Dice Masters: Deadpool. This will bring our beloved anti-hero into the game along with other characters like Lady Deadpool, Dogpool, and Evil Deadpool. Also mentioned is that this set will bring in the “Inhumans, new characters from the Spider-Verse, and more characters from the pages of What If?“. So if you need a bit more sass and breaking of the 4th wall in you dice masters set, then look for these boosters on store shelves in November. For more information you can check out the Wizkids page for preview images of the new cards in the set.
The Diana Jones Award is designed to reward any combination of achievement, innovation, and anything that has benefited or advanced the hobby and industry as a whole; or which has had the greatest positive effect on games and gaming; or which, in the opinion of the judging committee, shows or exemplifies gaming at its best.
This is the description given by the Diana Jones Awards website when asked what they mean by excellence. Thus, in light of the above requirements, they have decided to give this year’s award to Eric Lang for being both prolific and excellent in his designs. This year saw the release of four new games bearing his name, Bloodborne: The Card Game, The Others: 7 Sins, Arcane Academy, and HMS Dolores. And while producing a lot of games can be good, what makes him great is that with each game he designs, they seem to get better and better. This fact can be seen in the consistently high ratings of previous releases like Blood Rage and Dice Masters. So congratulations to Eric Lang, they couldn’t have picked a better person to receive the award. To read more about his winning and to see the other nominees, you can head over to the Diana Jones Awards website.
The quick march of Dice Masters expansions is not stopping any time soon, and coming in February of 2017 we will have some more Batman on the scene. DC Comics Dice Masters: Batman is going to be bringing us more of our favorite caped crusader, but not in a base set this time, only in booster packs. So those of us who may be averse to the collectible aspect of the game may stay away, but I don’t think anyone will balk at more Batman and some new characters from Gotham City. You can read more about the upcoming release on the ICv2 site here.
Wizkids is starting to shake up how they are going to release Dice Masters with their first annual starter set in January 2017. Marvel Dice Masters: Iron Man and War Machine will be the first starter set that won’t be linked to a larger release and just be a new entry point for people to join while still adding some new content to the game. Will this mark the point were Wizkids transitions away from having starter sets in each new expansion? Doubtful, but we will have to wait and see. You can read the announcement on the ICv2 site here.
