Imperial Assault is not lacking content, but Star Wars is an ever-expanding property that allows for growth in equal measure among the products utilize it. Fans can soon expect Star Wars Rebels to soon join the party as a small box expansion and four ally/villain packs introduce the crew of the Ghost and their adversaries to the campaign or skirmish matches. The Tyrants of Lothal small box expansion includes new characters and enemies which bring stories from the Lothal sector to the table, while the Spectres, the mercenary Hondo, and Grand Admiral Thrawn himself are all available separately to aid in combat or participate in unique scenarios. As described on it’s product page:
“Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Tyrants of Lothal, a new expansion for Imperial Assault, available for pre-order now from your local retailer! Tyrants of Lothal is not releasing alone either, so be sure to also pre-order the Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus Ally Pack, the Sabine Wren and Zeb Orrelios Ally Pack, the Thrawn Villain Pack, and the Hondo Ohnaka Villain Pack to upgrade your Imperial Assault experience!”
It’s very nice to see this show earn such an earnest inclusion to an already good game, and mechanically speaking there’s a lot to offer the competitive scene as well. Beyond the inclusion of powerful new characters, both allies and villains, there’s also more cards, abilities, and death troopers that will make skirmishes more interesting or the Imperial player more daunting, depending on the mode of play. Furthermore, since Rebels is canon and it has done a lot to bridge characters between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, there’s a lot of fun scenarios that could be made using other available characters, such as Darth Maul and Obi Wan for example, along with the Spectres. If you are interested in these expansions or future content for Imperial Assault, be sure to check out their product pages and the Fantasy Flight Games website for future announcements.
Today, Bézier Games
announced that Ultimate Werewolf Legacy
will be released at Gen Con
in August. Many are familiar with their game Ultimate Werewolf
where players are given secret roles are either working together to identify the werewolves (if you’re a villager) or working together to get rid of all of the villagers (if you’re a werewolf).
Ultimate Werewolf Legacy adds elements that make decisions made in this social deduction game impact in future games. In addition to a secret role, players will be given a family card that incentivizes players to work with their family members…as long as nobody in that family is secretly working against them.
Players are able to gain special abilities that carry on from game to game, too. The players aren’t the only thing evolving throughout the game, though. The village itself will change throughout the game. Both of these elements lend to high variability in the game as you can play through the campaign multiple times with different results.
Ultimate Werewolf Legacy implements an 80+ page diary that walks the game moderator through each session.
The Diary has been designed so that players with no previous werewolf playing experience can both play and moderate. The Diary is structured into 5 distinct chapters with 3 game sessions in each chapter, as well as an introductory Preface game session. Players can jump in and out for individual sessions, but they’ll have the most fun if they player all the sessions in a chapter. Each chapter can be played in a single evening. At the end of the 16 game session campaign, the Diary will be a record of exactly what happened in your village, and who was ultimately responsible for what it became over time.
A replay pack is available for purchase for those who wish to get a fresh diary and new family cards in order to play the game again.
Ultimate Werewolf Legacy was co-designed by Ted Alspach
, (Ultimate Werewolf, Werewords, and One Night Ultimate Werewolf) and Rob Daviau
(Pandemic Legacy, Seafall, Betrayal Legacy, and Downforce).
Ultimate Werewolf Legacy and Replay Packs can be preordered at beziergames.com
, and will ship in August 2018.

It is said that The Brood have always been with us, hidden out of view, waiting for the right opportunity to makes their presence known. When the world went black and the screaming finally stopped, they emerged from their places of hiding on and beneath the surface, cutting down and feeding on any living thing that stood in their way.
In the dark, Northern Wastes, known as Sector 44, danger lurks in the form of The Brood, a parasitic sect of creatures that dwell in subterranean systems beneath the ruined cities. Only The Outlanders, a team of skilled individuals hired by the surviving settlements, are brave enough to enter the Black Zones to retrieve valuable supplies and technology. In Blackout, players will take on the role of one of these Outlanders, selecting the specialization of either the Tracker, Engineer, Recon, or Slayer and seeking glory and renown.
Blackout is a post-apocalyptic dungeon crawler for 1-4 players by Richard Broadwater. The game features a mission-based leveling system that offers savage combat and exploration and offers 15-20 hours of solo and co-op play. “In Blackout, players will use miniatures on a grid-based board to simulate exploration and combat. Each character is supported by a player card, item, and ability cards. Modifier tokens are used to alter starting stat values of your characters as the campaign progresses. Movement is handled using the grid spaces that are present on all hall or room components. Combat is resolved using fixed-range based on a particular ranged or hand weapon and determined by dice rolls and modifiers.”
Included in the game are the following components:
- 32 high-quality plastic miniatures
- 48-page Rulebook
- 20-page Campaign Book
- Double-sided room and hall sections (representing alleyways/abandoned buildings and underground tunnel/maintenance chambers)
