Fantasy Flight Games isn’t done with Eldritch Horror yet, as they have just announced the next expansion for the game, Masks of Nyarlathotep. Those who are players of the Call of Cthulhu RPG may recognize that title, as it is one of the iconic adventures that you can undertake in the RPG. So with that in mind, not only is FFG adding this new expansion to Eldritch Horror, but Chaosium will be updating and reprinting the Masks of Nyarlathotep RPG campaign. You can read more about the RPG on the Chaosium website, so lets talk a bit more about the Eldritch Horror expansion.
In this expansion for Eldritch Horror you will be getting a ton of new cards in order to fight this horror which can change forms as easily as you change clothes. In addition to the extra spells, items, allies, as well as monsters and events, you will gain access to character specific back stories. Each of these back stories have different success and failure conditions, and depending on which you trigger, will either give you a helpful boost, or just drag you down further. Also new in this expansion is the addition of a campaign system, allowing you to play multiple games in a row, with the state between games not resetting. This will amp up the stress and theme even more as you will have to deal with the long term consequences of the status ailments you accumulate over the course of the game. So if you like Eldritch Horror and want even more content, check out the FFG website for more info and look for it on store shelves in the first quarter of 2018.

Call of Cthulhu LCG: “The Sleeper Below” Expansion

It also introduces players to those secretive societies that share pieces of information related to the Old Ones and the slumbering terror, Cthulhu.
Roughly two-thirds the cards in The Sleeper Below focus on the Cthulhu faction and its nefarious Cultists, immersing players into a world of frantic struggles against a host of countless evils, forever roiling just beneath the superficial veneer of mundane existence. You’ll also discover some of H.P. Lovecraft’s most nefarious and powerful evils, and a host of Explorers and other unique characters drawn straight from the pages of his classic short story, “The Call of Cthulhu.”
Android Netrunner LCG: “Up and Over” Data Pack
A lot of your standard Runner tricks don’t work on the moon. The Corps have the place locked down tight. Wave fields may fry your brain. Ice may change shape on you mid-run. Corps expand and contract their servers at will. It’s a tricky environment for any Runner to navigate, and the further you remain from your target, the more likely you’ll be caught off-guard.
With its sixty cards (three copies each of twenty different cards), Up and Over further develops the theme of lunar exploration that pervades the Lunar Cycle. In search of new means to bypass the Corporations’ ubiquitous defenses, the game’s Runners push further away from the center of Heinlein, out toward the Docklands, where illicit dealers supply anything to anyone… for the right price.
The Lord of the Rings LCG: “Celebrimbor’s Secret” Adventure Pack
The sixty new cards in Celebrimbor’s Secret introduce a new scenario, in which Middle-earth’s heroes must search through the ruins of Ost-in-Edhil, even as they are beset by a host of Mordor Orcs that have somehow made it to the ruins ahead of the heroes. But even as you stand against the Orcs, you’ll gain new strength from the Adventure Pack’s player cards, which lend greater strength to the Silvan and Noble traits, as well as the Doomed X mechanic. You’ll also be able to call upon a new hero, one who has closely guarded Celebrimbor’s secret for hundreds of years.
Warhammer 40,000: “Conquest” The Card Game
In Warhammer 40,000: Conquest, a two-player Living Card Game, you take the part of a warlord, leading your armies into battle against your opponent in a bid to claim glorious victory. Even as you lead your bravest warriors into battle, you must plan for the future, establishing a presence on planets before the tides of war consume them in blood and fire. You must conquer the Traxis sector by strength of arms for in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.
Warhammer 40,000: Conquest introduces seven distinct factions: Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, Chaos, Dark Eldar, Eldar, and Tau. Each of these factions possesses a unique flavor and style of play, and an alignment wheel introduces the possibility of forming an alliance between two factions.
At the start of play, the Traxis sector lies open before you, with planets awaiting the tramp of armies on the road to war. Each round begins with you and your opponent preparing for battle. Planet cards are arranged in a row between the players at the beginning of the game, and the planet farthest to the left of the starting player is the first planet. Each round, you or your opponent will clash at the first planet, and the victor will capture the first planet.
Capturing planets is your ultimate goal. Some planets possess essential materials necessary for the armies of the 41st millennium. Others offer strategic advantages to those who hold them, while yet others are home to great technological wealth. Each of the planet cards possesses one or more symbols in the upper left hand corner, designating that planet’s assets. These symbols grant no abilities by themselves, but the first player to collect three planets sharing a common symbol dominates the sector and wins the game.
Your warlord grants powerful special abilities, determines your starting resources and hand size, and serves as a vital part of your army, so you’ll want to build your deck around your warlord to take full advantage of his strengths — and cover his weaknesses as defeating the opponent’s warlord is another way to victory.
Descent 2nd Edition: “Crusade of the Forgotten” Hero & Monster Collection
The cult of the Forgotten has risen once more, but Terrinoth’s finest have stepped forward to oppose it. You’ll find eager adventurers and deadly monster groups in Crusade of the Forgotten, the third Hero and Monster Collection expansion for Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition. The thirteen heroes and monster figures within feature completely reworked artwork and figure sculpts, bringing them in line with the aesthetic of the second edition. In addition, Crusade of the Forgotten offers two brand-new quests, telling the tale of the heroes’ battle against the resurgent cult of the Forgotten.
Crusade of the Forgotten offers four noble heroes, ready to stand against the Forgotten as a light to the people of Terrinoth: Tahlia, Tetherys, Astarra, and Andira Runehand. These heroes are opposed by some of the overlord’s most evil monsters: golems, medusae, and sorcerers, all serving the cult of the Forgotten!
Crusade of the Forgotten contains:
Four heroes of Terrinoth, with detailed figures and character sheets
Three complete monster groups with monster cards
Two brand new quests: Crusade of the Forgotten and Shadowside Watch
Talisman: “The Woodland” Expansion
The unearthly Woodland is the home of the fae, and beneath its watchful boughs, you’ll uncover treasures and threats beyond your wildest dreams. You’ll find new Alternative Endings as five new characters join the quest for the Crown of Command, but will your path through the Woodland lead you to your destiny, or does your fate hold something far different in store?
Journey to the realm of the fae in The Woodland, an expansion for Talisman Revised 4th Edition! In this new expansion, you can walk your own path through the Woodland corner board, encountering strange new creatures, events, and dangers. At the end of your path, a meeting with destiny awaits, transforming your character’s future and developing your story further.
Even more waits beneath the boughs of the Woodland, however. Redesigned rules for fate tokens allow you to either help yourself or interfere with others, and your fate will shape many of your interactions within the groves and glades of the Woodland. Prepare yourself for a world different than anything yet seen in Talisman and enter the Woodland!
Star Wars Edge of the Empire RPG: “Far Horizons” Sourcebook
Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Far Horizons, a sourcebook for Colonists making their living at the galaxy’s fringes in Star Wars®: Edge of the Empire™. Far Horizons offers new options for Colonists, along with new gear, spaceships, and species that all players (and GMs) will find useful.
Cosmic Encounter: “Cosmic Dominion” Expansion
The fifth expansion set for the Fantasy Flight Games version of Cosmic Encounter, Cosmic Dominion has the unique distinction of having been designed and developed by the fan base of Cosmic Encounter, comprising nearly two years of collaboration on both Facebook and BGG.
Cosmic Dominion will add more than two dozen new aliens to the FFG canon. These will include a few favorite classics from the good old days, with a large number of new alien powers contributed by a wide variety of fan designers.
Finally, the set is expected to include a brand-new Reward Deck that can stand alone or be mixed with the one in Cosmic Incursion, but that is composed almost entirely of new cards, many with interesting twists on standard ones.
Fantasy Flight Games announced the revised second edition to their 2010 expansion, Secrets of Arkham available today. Secrets of Arkham is designed by Nate French (Star Wars: The Card Game & Lord of the Rings: The Card Game) and Eric Lang (Quarriors! & Game of Thrones: The Card Game) and takes players deeper into H.P. Lovecraft’s horror filled world.
This expansion to Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game does require the base game to play and will include 165 cards, a twelve story card deck and 3 copies of 51 player cards.
