Neuroshima Hex: Mississippi
In this army pack for Neuroshima Hex, the Mississippi army are ready to lay waste to their opponent’s headquarters with their toxic bombs. This faction also has a noticeable resistance to attacks and ability to bypass the enemy’s defense. However, the army’s disadvantages are a low number of Warriors, low mobility, low toughness, as well as a complete lack of armor. Pack contents include 35 army tiles, 5 wound markers, 2 HQ markers, 1 toxic bomb marker, and 5 venom markers.
Neuroshima Hex: Mephisto
In this army pack comes Mephisto. Mephisto is a giant worm, a unique synthesis of flesh and steel, which can be a serious threat to even well-armed forces. The contaminated crater, Mephisto’s territory, is a tempting shortcut route and a source of resources but it often becomes a graveyard for newcomers.
Neuroshima Hex: Sharrash
The main advantages of the Sharrash army are: mobility of HQ, the ability to blow up even the fastest enemy units and to paralyze the slower ones, and also bypassing enemy’s defense lines thanks to the mortars. Another advantage of the Sharrash is a difficult to eliminate Foundation Tile (Hole), which can easily thwart the enemy’s plans.

A group of the finest boardgame designers answered Ignacy Trzewiczek’s invitation to take part in creating this 268 page book. They shared their anecdotes, tips and memories, making the book a unique trip over different designing styles, and a engaging guide through the world of boardgame creation. Five Tribes, designed by Bruno Cathala (Cyclades, Shadows Over Camelot, Mr. Jack) and published by Days of Wonder is now available for pre-order.
Five Tribes is a “worker displacement” game with a set collection and area control aspects. An interesting twist to worker placement, in this upcoming Arabian themed game, the worker meeples are placed on the board at the beginning of the game. The main board consists of tiles placed in a 5 by 6 grid and meeples are randomly placed on the tiles. These meeples do not belong to any one player and will move around the board.
Players are vying for influence control over the different tiles and at the end of the game, the player with the most influence controls the Sultanate. A player will choose a tile, redistribute meeples on that tile, and then take actions based on meeple color and last movement. There are five meeple colors, or tribes. Green provide resource cards, blue provide points for building tile locations, yellow meeples are placed in front of each player and follow a majority system for scoring, white enables powerful djinns, and red allows elimination of other meeples. As tiles are emptied, player’s camels mark them as influenced.
Components include 30 tiles, 90 wooden meeples, 96 victory coins, and 76 cards. Five Tribes is for 2 to 4 players, ages 13 and up and a play time of 60 minutes.
Designed by Bruno Cathala, Five Tribes is the new big box board game coming from Days of Wonder this fall. Five Tribes is a bit more of a “Gamers’ Game” than Days of Wonder’s standard fare. The game builds on a long tradition of German games with wooden Meeples in a unique twist on the Worker Placement game genre. While the rules are quite easy to learn and understand, implementing a winning strategy will take a calculated approach. In this worker displacement game, you score by carefully maneuvering the Five Tribes of Meeples over the tiles that make up the ancient city-state of the Sultanate of Naqala. You need to look ahead to determine what moves will not only position you to score well, but put your opponents at a disadvantage. It’s when, how and where you dis-place the Five Tribes of Assassins, Elders, Builders, Merchants & Viziers that will determine your victory or failure!
The game will be available worldwide in September, 2014. We expect to have a limited number of copies available to sell at Gencon in August. Also the game’s designer, Bruno Cathala will also join us at Gencon to demo the game and be available for interviews.
