Batman: The Animated Series

Last year, IDW Games published a board game based on the Batman: The Animated Series cartoon which may have flown under the radar among the deluge of games released at the time. While Batman’s enemies were defeated in the first game, the revolving doors of Arkham Asylum have allowed the villains to return in Batman The Animated Series: Gotham City Under Siege — Masterminds and Mayhem. Both the base game and this expansion are designed by Michael Guigliano, and Richard Launius (known for Arkham Horror).

The goal of the game is for 1-5 players, taking on the role of Batman and the rest of the Bat family, to thwart the plans of the Masterminds who have deadlier weapons and improved tactics. Alongside armored cars and explosives, the villains now join their hired goons on the streets to fight Batman and his team directly. New Rooftop Villains and Act Leader Target mechanisms are also added. New Mastermind cards include The Joker, Two-Face, and The Riddler.

The game is aimed at players aged 14+ and plays in 45-60 mins. It’s expected to release in October of 2019.

IDW Games gives players a chance to play their favorite villain in Gotham City in Batman The Animated Series: Rogues Gallery. Each player then goes on crime sprees, steal powerful upgrades and recruit nefarious accomplices to accomplish their master plan and be the first to defeat Batman.

Designed  by Sen-Foong Lim (Belfort and Junk Art) and Jessey Wright, Batman The Animated Series: Rogues Gallery is a push your luck game, which is certainly the case anytime you go up against the Batman.  Artwork by comic artists Chris Fenoglio, Jack Lawrence, Dario Brizuela, and Marcelo Ferreira will delight fans of the original Batman The Animated Series cartoon.

Batman The Animated Series: Rogues Gallery plays 3-5 players, ages 12+, in 30-45 minutes.  Contents include a Bat Signal board, 11 Villain player sheets, 7 Common dice, 4 Power dice, 3 Batman cards, 8 Advanced Hero cards, 16 Basic Hero cards, 29 Upgrade cards, 37 Accomplice cards, 35 Scheme tokens, 18 Lucky Coin tokens, 5 Power tokens, a Bat Signal token, and Rulebook. Pre-orders are not available until the end of March.  Look for Batman The Animated Series: Rogues Gallery in stores on 5 June 2019.

IDW Games New Game Announcements

Batman: Gotham City Under Siege, although not a new announcement for its release is going to be hitting retail very soon.

Designed by Richard Launius and Michael Guigliano, and Batman – The Animated Series: Gotham City Under Siege is a cooperative game for 1-5 players. Each player takes on the role of Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon or the Gotham City Police Department, along with the unlikely aid of Catwoman. They must defend the city over the course of four acts, with each act inspired by episodes from the first season of the show. Players will need to work together to find the right balance between completing challenging story cards, or taking down the villains and masterminds running rampant in the streets.

First-time announcing, however, is TMNT Adventures. More info will be coming soon.

Batman: The Animated Series – Gotham Under Siege, from IDW Games will be the first in a series of tabletop games based on the Warner Brothers cartoon franchise. This is a game for 1-5 players who play as Batman and his allies protecting Gotham from his Rogues Gallery. It’s designed by Richard Launius (known for Elder Sign, Arkham Horror) and Michael Guigliano, intended for players aged 14+, and plays in 45-60 mins.

Gotham’s heroes will make use of dice allocation and threat management to defend the city against bosses and their henchmen. Batman: The Animated Series – Gotham Under Siege includes all new artwork, character miniatures, and 3D city buildings.
