Based on the popular Newgrounds video games series, The Visitor: The Board Game, brings the same hilarious and disgusting humor and antics found in the online video game straight to your gaming table.
The plot of the game revolves around hungry, invading aliens that feed by entering through their prey’s…well…perhaps you should go check that out for yourself in the Kickstarter video. For the squeamish amongst you, consider yourself warned. As far as gameplay:
The Visitor: The Board Game is a competitive dice-allocation game for 2 to 4 players that puts you in control of an alien slug who eats other creatures in order to evolve.
Each round you will draft different coloured dice from a shared “DNA pool” based on your strategy. The red dice are aggressive; they help you get to your food and eat it faster. The blue dice are speedy; they allow you to rush around the board with ease. The green dice are smart; they solve puzzles with superior efficiency. There’s also the black dice, which are gross.
If you were a fan of the Newgrounds series or like a little disgusting humor in your board games, head over to the Kickstarter page to learn more about The Visitor.

The Xenomorphs are back to ambush their prey in Ninja Division‘s second edition of Alien vs. Predator: The Hunt Begins. AVP: The Hunt Begins is a 1 to 3 player game that can be played in two distinct game modes. In the competitive mode, all races (Marines, Aliens, and Predators) fight against each other to complete missions and objectives. In the cooperative mode, the Marines and Predators have made a fragile alliance to combat the Alien threat.
“The Hunt Begins” is a fast paced, claustrophobic, “express elevator to hell” miniature game of combat between three of the most dangerous races in the galaxy. Join the ranks of the brave men and women of the US Colonial Marines and arm yourself with state-of-the-art weaponry or take command of the elite cadre of Predators, an alien race of hunters that seek the finest prey to stalk, hunt and eliminate. The darkness holds more horrors than these two adversaries…the Xenomorphs, one of the deadliest of all known alien species with the potential to destroy and eradicate all sentient life.
The game includes 23 highly detailed miniatures, a modular map, and both basic and advanced rulesets. Gameplay typically lasts between 30 – 90 minutes. To read more about the game, visit Ninja Division’s website.
Gamewright have announced a brand new line of games, Cardventures , starting with two titles: Stowaway 52 and Jump Ship!
Cardventures is a series of choose your own path books in a deck of cards in which you start a game by picking a card, read the text and choose one of the options at the bottom of the card which leads to another card and so on. The story will develop until you reach an end point.
In Stowaway 52 you have sneaked in an alien ship which is about to attack Earth and it’s up to you to stop it. In Jump Ship! you are a pirate captain trying to defend your own ship or decide to plunder other ships to grab the most gold.
Cardventures are for one or more players, age 8+ and makes a great “read together” activity between parent and child and a useful tool to develop language, vocabulary and decision making skills. Both titles are available now.

Lead your team to the safety of the escape pods and leave station Argo before the Aliens kill you!
Push the others to make way in the cramped corridors, and use Astronauts from other teams to slow down the Aliens. Be careful however because if too many die, everyone will lose!
Bruno Faidutti (Citadels, Incan Gold) and Serge Laget (Cargo Noir, Mystery at the Abbey) have once again teamed up to bring a new game from Belgian publisher Flatlined Games: Argo. In Argo, players are a team of space miners that have awoken in an unknown deep space mining station. Am much as the team would like to know where they are and how they got there, there is no time, as alarms are blaring and predatory aliens are attacking the station. There is nothing for it but to run to the nearest escape pods and escape the installation, avoiding the aliens’ terrible jaws.
Argo is a fiercely competitive game in which players adopt an every-man-an-woman-for-themselves approach, yet all the while not letting too many of their compatriots get eaten by aliens, lest they all lose the game.
As the players avoid horrific deaths at the mouths of the alien attackers, they reveal tiles as search for escape shuttles. Players alternatively control the aliens as well as their own miners, and since there are not enough escape pods for everyone, some miners will be left behind…or eaten…
Argo is a game for 2-4 players ages 13+, and plays in about 40 minutes. If successful, this project will fund on March 3, 2016. For more information and to support Argo, check out the Kickstarter page for this project.
News came in just this week of the imminent Kickstarter campaign for Argo, a sic-fi game from Bruno Faidutti and Serge Laget and published by Flatline Games. Here is the official announcement:
Flatlined Games will soon start the Kickstarter Campaign for Argo, the new game by Bruno Faidutti and Serge Laget.
In Argo, you are astronauts trying to escape a space station before the Aliens get you. The spots in the escape pods are limited so you will need a good balance of cooperation and competition to win this game!
The campaign for Argo will start in a few days, do not miss it!
Argo has been in development for over two years and originally hoped for an Essen 2015 release, but due to delays the game is hoping for a successful Kickstarter campaign and a 2016 release.

Upper Deck came prepared to GAMA 2015 with a host of hot upcoming games, all coming out some time this summer.
Stalking hot on the heels of their Legendary Alien Encounters game, Upper Deck has announced a stand-alone Legendary Predator game. Designed by Ben Cichoski and Danny Mandel, Predator Encounters will be a cooperative game pitting players against a common threat. The big twist for this release, however, is that players can choose to represent the tasty humans or instead pilot a Predator force intent on seeking the glory of the hunt. Representatives for Upper Deck were quick to note the game is 100% compatible with the Alien Encounters game, allowing a dream scenario of Predator on Alien combat if both sets are combined. Similar to how Alien Encounters combined story lines from both Alien and Aliens, Predator Encounters will bring adventures in two flavors, jungle or urban.
Upper Deck hasn’t forgotten the comic fans. In addition to the Predator game, this summer will also see an expansion for the Marvel Legendary game focusing on Secret Wars. Not the 80’s series most of us are familiar with, but a brand new Marvel storyline. This Set will be able to combine with all other Legendary Heroes games, allowing players a full palette of super hero match ups.
Bring Out Yer Dead
Back in November 2014 there was a little Kickstarter for a game called Bring Out Yer Dead
. The game raised some money, then suddenly it was cancelled. Rumors swirled of it being picked up by a publisher and today we know the publisher’s name — Upper Deck. Bring Out Yer Dead will be the first game in Upper Deck’s lineup to use original IP (no movie license here) and the game looks to be a much more Euro-style game than anything Upper Deck has launched before.
CCG fans should be familiar with the 2004 Upper Deck release of the VS. System. Centering around super heroes, the collectible game was extremely popular, yet was unable to keep momentum in the very competitive CCG market. Now Upper Deck is resurrecting the game for a major re-release at this year’s GEN CON. Instead of a CCG, VS. will release in a single box similar to Legendary. The Box will contain approx. 350-400 cards with 4 teams included in the first release. And to kick the game off right, GEN CON will also see a massive tourney to introduce the game, ensuring demand for cards will be high.
