Karl Fenner the designer of Police Precinct, and Common Man Games are Kickstarting an upgrade for Police Precinct or the option of buying the new second edition of the game.
Police Precinct is a popular cooperative game where players take on the role of police officers in a precinct in a seedy part of a city. They have to keep the peace, deal with ordinary crime, respond to emergencies, and ultimately solve a major murder spree by a serial killer, all within strict time and turn constraints.
Uplift allows owners of the 1st edition of the game to upgrade the components to match the new 2nd edition of the game released earlier this year (also the subject of a Kickstarter campaign in 2014). The upgrade is really a major overhaul of the game featuring 16 characters—some of them new, new artwork by original game artist George Patsouras, revised rule book, new 2-sided game board, player aids, new loyalty and event cards, and bonus cards.
New backers will also have the option to support a complete 2nd edition version of the game, including the Kickstarter stretch goals from last year’s campaign.
Common Man will also give a reward to the 2014 backers of the 2nd edition by “taking measures to be sure that you can get any and all stretch goals” from the current campaign in the future. The campaign ends on July 31, 2015.
