Nerdy Inventions is the latest game from Mayday games on Kickstarter and is a light-hearted dice chucking game of steam-punk scientists competing to see who is the nerdiest inventor. To set up the game you will lay out 6 tiles/cards corresponding to the six values on the dice, then under each value you will deal out an invention card. On each invention card are dice requirements in the form of numbers, gears, and question marks for what you need to roll in order to build that invention and gain it’s abilities. Values are simply needing to roll that value, question marks are any die value, and gears mean you have to roll the value corresponding to which numbered card it is located under. There are other options for dice usage such as refreshing used abilities or swapping around the available cards so the gear icons align with dice you have rolled. The game continues until either the invention deck runs out or someone builds and uses the game ending invention, at that point everyone counts up the victory points on their inventions and whoever has the most is winner!
The game is currently up on Kickstarter and has some nice steam-punk style art and is inexpensive to boot at only $18 for a copy. If this game sounds interesting to you check out the campaign page to pledge for your own copy.
