New killzones for Warhammer 40,000

Not enough killzone diversity in your Warhammer 40,000? Games Workshop has solved this problem in the expansion Kill Team: Rogue Trader. It adds two brand new killzones to any of your games – The Truehawk (a spaceship) and The Ministorum Shrine. These thematic battlefields are perfect for newbies and hardcore gamers alike.

Ultra-close confines

Both of the new killzones are set in ultra-close confines. Instead of fighting in sprawling wastelands or ruined cityscapes, players must battle at close-quarters in starships and Adeptus Ministorum shrines.

“In ultra-close confines, the board is broken up by walls that cannot be fired through, seen through or measured through in any way – meaning careful positioning is key to victory. Once-reliable Sniper specialists must scrabble for strong firing lanes, while Combat and Demolition troops reign supreme.”

Not only is this a thrilling gaming experience, ultra-close confines is portable as well. Your board and all of your terrain will fit into a skirmish case.

The Truehawk & The Ministorum Shrine

These new killzones are fantastic tools for narrative players – allowing them to start a campaign with style.

“Imagine kicking off a Kill Team campaign with every player attempting a landing in a shuttle of their own while under attack from enemy forces – or linking the Ministorum Shrine to another killzone in a multiplayer game as a group of troops rush for cover during an orbital bombardment.”

A double-sided game board, featuring the layout of the Truehawk on one side and the Ministorum shrine on the other is included. The board measures 22”x30”, the same as the board found in Kill Team. You can combine the boards to create a large play area that can accommodate up to 4-player games!

Introducing two new killteams

Kill Team: Rogue Trader also introduces two new teams. The Elucidian Starstriders, led by Rogue Trader Elucia Vhane, seek to colonize new worlds at the behest of the Imperium’s mightiest leader. The Gellerpox Infected is a virulent band of mutants led by the hulking Vulgar Thrice-Cursed. Who will prevail – the answer is up to you!

Rogue Trader is an expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team, and requires a copy of the Core Rules. A 56-page book filled with background and rules for the Elucidian Starstriders and Gellerpox Infected – as well as new advanced rules for all Kill Team factions is included.

Kill Team: Rogue Trader is available for pre-order now and will start shipping September 15. You can learn more about the backstory as well as what comes in the expansion here. You can also watch some Dice Tower coverage of Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team by Sam Healy here.
