Sit Down! Games is reimplementing their cooperative realtime game, Magic Maze, and this time instead of a mall, players will be on Mars. The new version has the same designer (Kasper Lapp) and artist (Gyom) as the original.
In Magic Maze on Mars, you are robots preparing Mars for the arrival of colonists. Players will produce resources at factories, move resources along color-coded paths on tiles, construct domes requiring specific resources, and then guide one colonist to each dome when they arrive. You have to do all of this without talking, and with each player only being able to take certain actions based on the color of their action tile. Players can only talk when the game’s sand timer is flipped.
The game is for 1-6 players, and brings back the large red “Do Something!” pawn from the original game with a new wrinkle. Now instead of placing (banging repeatedly) the red pawn in front of a player, you place it on a spot of an action board to depict the type of action you think needs to be taken. Something else new Magic Maze on Mars adds is pink space slugs that eat garbage. The production also includes custom resource tokens. Magic Maze on Mars
