Kickstarter: All the kids are doing it these days

I’ve only ever kickstarted [?] a project once, and it was indeed a board game [VivaJava by Dice Hate Me Games]. I’m excited to see the game continue to raise money, knowing there’s only a couple weeks left and they’ve already hit twice their goal of $15k. But this isn’t about them. It’s about Kickstarter. And the rage it is.

I have a friend that started a Kickstarter project as a fund raiser / side job. As a graphic designer, he had a brilliant idea to “make a bunch of logos.” Well, he did, and his estimated goal of $500 was surpassed, ending in over $6K raised. Amazing. And I’m bummed that I didn’t get on his bandwagon. Sorry Brandon.

But I digress again, because this isn’t about my friend Brandon either. It’s about Kickstarter. And No…I won’t go any farther. Just read the GamerChris blog post on Kickstarter. Pretty cool insight.

What about you? Have you Kickstarted anything? A board game perhaps?
