Some very exciting news was announced by Patrick Nickell, owner of Crash of Games, during one of his weekly “5-minute Monday” VLOGs. CoG has picked up publishing rights for Finca, an economic/farming game designed by Ralf zur Linde and Wolfgang Sentker. It was originally published in 2009 by Hans im Gluck in Germany and licensed by Rio Grande Games in the United States.
Finca is slated for a 2017 (second quarter) release and will feature new art to be re-commissioned. You can ready the formal press release below:
CRASH OF GAMES TO PUBLISH OUT OF PRINT BOARD GAME “FINCA”
Everett, Washington 5/23/16 – Crash Games is excited to announce that they have acquired publishing right to the Tabletop Board Game, “Finca”. “Finca” is designed by Ralf zur Linde and Wolfgang Sentker and was published in 2009 by Hans im Gluck in Germany and licensed by Rio Grande Games in the United States. “Finca” garnered a coveted “Spiel des Jahres” (Game of the Year) nomination in 2009 as well at over ten other Game Award nominations and wins for its simple yet engaging game play.
Crash of Games has “Finca” slated for a Q2-2017 release and will be commissioning all new art for the game. The farming theme will be kept but localized for North America.
Crash of Games is an independent table top board game design, development and publishing company based in Everett, Washington. Crash of Games’ mission is to bring families and friends together through the social and engaging play of modern board games. Crash Games, LLC was founded in Phoenix, Arizona in 2011 by Patrick Nickell. Patrick Nickell has a background in radio broadcasting and journalism and has been published in The Arizona Republic, The Rim Country Gazette, as well as other print media and featured in a multitude of broadcast media. In 2015 Crash Games partnered with Geek Chic, located in Everett, Washington. Geek Chic makes heirloom quality, custom, made to order furniture. Starting as only three fellas in a garage, it has grown to 40 employees and 40,000 square feet of shop.
