Lanterns Dice: Lights in the Sky is set against the backdrop of the Harvest Festival, an Asian time of celebration. Players act as artisans who decorate the lake with floating lanterns and launch fireworks to light up the sky in honor of the best harvest festival yet. The emperor is not easily impressed and the player who earns the most honor in the emperor’s eyes wins the game. The game supports 2-4 players, aged 10+, and plays in 30-45 mins.
In the game, players roll dice then choose which colored lanterns to fill in on their scoresheets. They can earn gifts which allow them to perform special actions, fill in additional colored lanterns, and create powerful combinations. Fireworks tiles are used to cover completed shapes to score points.
Lanterns Dice: Lights in the Sky is designed by Chris Bryan (known for Favelas), with art by Beth Sobel (known for Viticulture, and Wingspan), and is expected to release in May of 2019. For more information, check the Renegade Game Studios website.
