A New Sentinels Product Being Kickstarted
Sentinel Tactics: The Flame of Freedom is the hex-grid based tactical combat game for 2-8 players set in the world of Sentinel Comics! Sentinel Tactics puts you in control of one of the many super-powered characters from Sentinel Comics. Whether playing in tournament-style skirmishes or playing through the storyline of The Flame of Freedom in the included scenario comic book, each player controls one of our familiar heroes or villains, each with their own powers and abilities!
Combat takes place on a hex-grid map, and attack and defense is based on the rolling of six-sided dice. Whereas the Sentinels of the Multiverse card game is a fully cooperative game, Sentinel Tactics is a team based game, pitting groups of heroes and villains against each other. Groups of players will cooperate against either a villain player or players, or against another team of players! Sentinel Tactics is a competitive game, but cooperation and teamwork are still vital to the gameplay!
The closing date on Kickstarter is April 24, 2014, the current pledged amount is $77,623 and the funding goal for the project is $50,000. Pledge $50 to get Sentinel Tactics: The Flame of Freedom. This contains everything you need to play Sentinel Tactics, including two environment maps, nine characters, and nine villain scenarios. (Domestic Shipping Included.) Estimated delivery: Dec 2014

From North Star Games…
Kensington, MD – North Star Games, publisher of blockbuster party games such as
Wits & Wagers® and Say Anything®, proudly releases a new party game designed specifically for kids: Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! is a hilarious game where players of all ages take turns giving each other surprising gifts. Some gifts are great, some gifts are not so great, and most gifts are down-right hilarious.”We designed Happy Birthday! so kids can start playingthe moment they open the box.” said Dominic Crapuchettes, North Star Games’ founder. “Players take turns giving each other fun gifts. It’s that easy. In fact, if your kids have ever given someone a gift, they already know how to play!”
The goal is very simple: win as many points as possible. Points are given to players that give the best gift, and to players that give the worst gift. This is where the game shines. Finding the best (or worst) gift for another player always results in a room filled with laughter.
Kids love parties and kids love games. Happy Birthday! now makes it easy to do both!
About North Star Games
North Star Games’ board games inspire laughter through social interaction rather than through complex rules and fierce competition. They pride themselves on bringing innovation to a stagnant party game market that relies on Hollywood licenses instead of fresh game ideas.
Essen: A Board Game!
ESSEN: A board game about selling board games & exhibiting at a board game fair.
Following the success of Gear & Piston, Byzantio / Nekken and the 4th edition of Town Center, LudiCreations are proud to announce their next Kickstarter campaign; ESSEN.
In this euro-style game for 1-4 players, you take on the role of a board game publisher that is exhibiting at the world’s most famous trade fair. Designed by Harry-Pekka Kuusela, it is playable in 30-60 minutes, and can be played with up to 8 players by combining two copies of the game.
“I have been designing these mechanisms since 2007, and I am delighted with what this game is going to become. I can’t wait to play ESSEN in Essen!” – Harry-Pekka Kuusela
In ESSEN, which is going to be beautifully illustrated in pixel art, with a plethora of inside jokes and references for board gamers, you have to make decisions like any publisher has to make – about staffing, managing your money, creating buzz, and much more! Each player board is themed as being occupied by a certain type of game publisher (eurogames, ameritrash, wargames, RPGs), with reverse side showing even more types of games (abstract, children’s games, space 4X, LARPs) for even more variety.
Last year the Spiel game fair had 156,000 visitors & 828 exhibitors from 39 nations. This April you can back the campaign which allows you to take over a booth and outsell them all to be the best publisher in ESSEN!
Galactic Strike Force
Galactic Strike Force is a cooperative, tactical, deck-building game in which two to six players each take control of a ship and a crew in defense of the galaxy! Dangerous opposition forces threaten to overrun the entire galaxy, and the players must not only build up their ships, but also work together tactically to stop them!
However, this Strike Force is not made up of stalwart defenders, space cops or Volnethian Guardians. In Galactic Strike Force, you play as scoundrels, members of the galactic underworld! Smugglers, space pirates, gun runners, bounty hunters, and information brokers make up the ranks of the Strike Force which has come together to defend the galaxy!
Each player begins the game with a Strike Force ship panel and a unique, eight-card deck which represents their ship and its crew. Arrayed against the Strike Force is one of five Opposition fleets, spread across a number of different sectors. Rather than players having individual turns, the game rounds proceed through five phases, in which the players act simultaneously.
Players use Travel Cards from sector to sector, Requisition Cards from various stations, and install their Tech Cards in hand to upgrade their ships. Then, the Strike Force may engage the Opposition in battle across every sector; however, while the Strike Force has been preparing their assault, the Opposition has grown ever more powerful. Finally, in the Aftermath, the Opposition forces gain resources when unopposed and add strength and numbers to their fleet. Ultimately, the Strike Force must work together to drive the Opposition from their systems and to final defeat.
Galactic Strike Force: Guardians of Volenth
The galaxy has long forgotten the Volnethian people, but with the recent unearthing of Volnethian Artifacts, the fabled Guardians of Volneth have returned and their impact on the galaxy will leave it forever changed.
Guardians of Volneth expands the cooperative ship-building space combat game, Galactic Strike Force! It adds two new Sectors, five Mission Cards, fifteen Station Cards and a sheet of Volnethian Artifact tokens to track the movement of power through the galaxy!
Galactic Strike Force: Miniatures Pack
A set of 15 unpainted plastic (pvc) miniatures usable with the core game.
1896: As the pioneers of magic compete against each other to amaze the public, the most spectacular magic show of all times will soon happen and YOU want to win it! To achieve that, you’ll portray one of the ten magicians in competition and challenge your competitors with prestigious tricks.
Illusio is a card game about mentalism, close-up tricks, illusions and other examples of magic at the end of the 19th century, where the magic arts held as much science as mystery. Which one of the great magicians trying to become Master of Illusion are you going to be?
Big Idea: The Game of Crazy Inventions
The Big Idea is a hybrid game of party game and light strategy game. In that design, players would create crazy inventions from the pairing of an adjective and noun card in their hands, simultaneously choose one invention (other than their own) to invest in, pay to invest in other inventions (whether newly created that round or an earlier creation), then roll a die for each investment to see whether it pays off and if so by how much. The player who has collected the most money wins.
The empire is a modular 28mm heroic scale faction for a game of medieval fantasy massive battles. The boxes of regiments compose ten, fifteen or twenty units of hard plastic with a number of modular components to configure armies uniquely.
The miniatures will come in plastic sprues, from which the components should be separated, glued and painted. Each box will also contain an instruction sheet in several languages and the corresponding bases. Our rules will be available for free on our website to anyone who wants to download them. The campaign is focused on unlocking nine modular plastic regiments.
The closing date on Kickstarter is April 20, 2014, the funding goal for the project is $75,000. A $70 buys you in to a set of regiments.
